To help get you in the mood for The Force Unleashed, we're bringing you another installment of our Cast of Characters feature. The game, due out in September, will bridge the gap between Episode III and Episode IV, and tell a tale of Darth Vader's secret Jedi apprentice. Even so, LucasArts hopes that their newest project, The Force Unleashed, will blow all previous efforts out of the water. The Star Wars universe is no stranger to massive videogame projects.
Starkiller is only as bad as you want him to be. Will he follow his master's tutelage and rule the galaxy through fear? Will he seek redemption and help restore the Jedi Order? The choices the player makes will influence the ultimate outcome. Even as he hunts these warriors to the death, Starkiller realizes his destiny may lie on a different path. As Starkiller embarks on a series of training missions, he comes in contact with several Jedi who survived the Great Purge. Even Vader has reason to fear Starkiller, which is all the more reason for master to keep a close leash on student. His Force potential rivals that of the greatest Jedi who ever lived. Given that he has spent most of his life under close watch from the Sith Lord, it's not surprising that Starkiller is both a fearsome warrior and somewhat less than a people-person. Starkiller was orphaned during a battle on Kashyyk and "rescued" by Vader. His hope is that one day, he and his apprentice can strike down Emperor Palpatine and take control of the Empire. Vader conceals the existence of Starkiller from all but a few trusted Imperial soldiers. This secrecy suits the purposes of both master and apprentice. The Sith Rule of Two forbids Starkiller from officially joining the Order, but he is content to merely rank as a Dark Jedi, for now. Starkiller is a Jedi with amazing potential who serves as Darth Vader's secret apprentice.
